TINY FRAGMENTS OF BEAUTIFUL LIGHT IS ONE WOMAN’S JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY: A CELEBRATION OF THE JOY THAT COMES WHEN WE LIVE AS WE TRULY ARE.
Elsa doesn’t know why she’s never quite fit in. Perhaps it’s just the way she’s made? She’s quirky, kind, clever and funny, but school was always a nightmare, and romance was a mystery, until now…
When Elsa meets Carmen the real journey begins: to find out who she is, and why there’s an octopus living inside her head.
This show has been designed with the access needs of neurodiverse audiences in mind. You will therefore have the choice to experience the sound through the use of headphones so that you can control what and how you hear. If you prefer not to use headphones at all that is absolutely fine, the sound will play at a relaxed level in the space.
Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

Extant in partnership with Alphabetti Theatre – presents Enhance.
Tiny Fragments of Beautiful Light by Alison Davies.
Visually impaired access has been created for this show post-production, devised by an Extant visually impaired facilitator. This is not audio description, but instead an ‘enhanced’ way of providing access that has been tried and tested by Extant.
We invite visually impaired audiences to come along and experience the programme notes and touch tour before the show beginning at (time). The notes encapsulate the visual aspects of the show and are written with access for visually impaired audiences at the core. The Touch Tour offers exploration of set, props and costume: offering an immersive space in which to imagine the work before the show begins.
‘Very descriptive and it allowed me to create a visual picture in my head.’
Extant Enhance 2023-26 is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Council England.
Meet Extant for visually impaired audience members
5-6pm
In the bar cafe before the Touch Tour
One of our Enhance advocates will lead the group alongside Alphabetti community contact
There will be a short presentation on 'Finding connection through theatre in 2025, what are we inspired by and why', networking and refreshments. We will also discuss barriers to access and how we can remove these.
