Sorry if this is a silly question by Sarah Bulmer

Sarah Bulmer-7 small.heic

Sarah is honestly a little bit shocked to be writing this. This will be the first piece of writing Sarah has ever had commissioned. As a member of Betti’s front of house team, it’s really exciting for this first price to be put on in this theatre. She was very moved by the content of “My Name is Rachel Corrie” which, unfortunately is still such a prevalent topic 21 years after it was first created. “I’m Sorry If this is a Silly Question” basically came from the belief that we should all be asking questions, even if they seem silly or even too difficult to ask. Previous acting credits include: Phebe As You Like It (Theatre Space NE), Willard It’s All in Your Head (Laurels), Cecily The Importance of Being Earnest (NTC) and she will be playing Madam Horlage this Christmas in Beauty and the Beast (Durham Gala)

Andrew Dawson is a professional actor, director and coach from South Shields and a 2020 graduate of the Manchester School of Theatre.

This is Andrew’s first directing opportunity at Alphabetti Theatre and he is very excited to explore this opportunity.

Since leaving drama school Andrew has appeared in Sky’s BRASSIC and shows across the northeast including: The 27 Club, Live Writes and The Enchanted Snowglobe.

Most recently Andrew was assistant producer on Peachplant Productions show ‘’SUBTERRANEA’ at Laurels and assistant movement director on ‘Gerry and Sewell’ at the Theatre Royal.

Danielle Stephenson Headshot1.jpg

Performed by Danielle Stephenson

I’m an artist from the northeast and living in Durham after a number of years spent in the midlands where I fell in love with the theatre. I was a member of Rugby theatre where credits included Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk and Crystal in Ben Hur. Since moving ‘home’ in 2021 credits include ‘No Exit’, ‘Snake in the Grass’, ‘Damages’, ‘Little Gem’ (Durham Dramatic Society), ‘Pursuers of the Future’ (Theatre Space NE), ‘Aladdin’ (Royalty Theatre).

This will be my first professional performance and I can’t wait to work with Alphabetti in this piece.

Alphabetti Theatre’s Reaction & Response programme is funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
