Ali Pritchard – Founder & Artistic Director
Ali has a BA Honours in Drama & Scriptwriting from Northumbria University and a Higher Diploma in Contemporary Vocals from The Academy of Contemporary Music. At the age of 23, Ali founded Alphabetti Theatre making him one the UK's youngest Artistic Directors. Ali is a visiting lecturer at a number of higher educational organisations and in 2013, following a year long gradutate fellowship at Northumbria University, he won "The Best Postgraduate Lecturer" award.
Ali is the only full-time member of staff at Alphabetti, as he programmes the entire theatre programme, writes, directs and produces. Due to how small a team we are he also has to muck in with managing the bar, running the get-ins, operating tech, sorting the rota and volunteers, doing the banking, fixing the building and responding to lots of your lovely enquiries!
In his very rare spare time he sings, cooks, reads and builds things! Sometimes he does all at once!
Ben Dickenson – Literary Manager (Part-Time)
Ben has a BA in Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College, an MA in Film & Television from Westminster Uni, and is a graduate of Live Theatre’s writing programmes. After a career in community arts, Ben produced the Galaxy FM breakfast show, wrote about film for national papers including The Independent, and published Hollywood’s New Radicalism (Macmillan, 2006). Ben is a co-founder of Write On Tap, directing plays for five of their shows.
On his 15th visit to Alphabetti Ali finally managed to tie Ben to a chair and force him to be Literary Manager…now he’ll do anything from reading and writing, to directing and producing and all in his spare time alongside his full-time job!
Chloe Stott – Venue Producer (Part-Time)
Chloe has a BA (Hons) in Theatre and Performance from the University of Leeds. She began her theatre career at university taking a successful show up to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2012 and has been hooked ever since. She started working for the Octagon Theatre Bolton in September 2012 gaining experience in box office, front of house and stage management. She then made the move to Newcastle and currently works full time at Dance City. Her passion lies with theatre so after a little pursuing, Ali agreed to take her on as a producer-in-training and has been part of the team since February 2016.
She produces all Alphabetti Theatre shows and is the contact for all visiting companies taking responsibility for marketing and ticket sales.
Esther Fearn – Venue Manager and Bar Staff (Part-Time)
Esther has taken the baton from the lovely Rosie and ensures the smooth running of the bar and venue by ordering all the stock, paying invoices, setting up the box office and working on the bar. She also manages our large team of box office volunteers so if you would like to get involved in this please contact Esther!
Lauren Stone – Bar Staff & Caretaker (Part-Time)
Lauren works on our bar and often helps with the box office. She also makes sure the entire building looks tickety-boo ready for you lot!
Sir Rexalot – Theatre Pooch
Life has never been quite the same since adorable Rex came on the scene! Ali's little bruiser has definitely been adopted as part of the Alphabetti team and you will often see him plodding about the basement. He even has his own little bed built into the bar. His bark sounds a bit scary but he is completely harmless, he just wants to be your friend!
